New Classes

Neisa will be starting new sessions at The Cedars Jazz Club in Colorado Springs, starting Thursday, July 24th and Saturday, July 26th!

There will be one Level I (Introduction) course, one Level II (Beyond Introduction) course, and one Level III (Intermediate) course, at the following times:

• Level I (Introductory): Saturdays at 9:00 am
• Level II (Beyond Introduction): Saturdays at 10:15 am
• Level III (Technique and Expression): Thursdays at 7:15 pm

All courses are 8 weeks long with classes lasting about 1 hour. There will be no classes the Thursday or Saturday before Labor Day.

The cost of each session is as follows:

• $90 if paid in entirety at the first class.
• $50 in two monthly installments ($100 total).
• $15 per class if paid for at each class.

Details

The Level I class will focus on beginning belly dance moves and posture, and will include a short choreography to show you how you can put all the moves together.

Level II will continue with new moves and drills, and once again show you how to incorporate them into your dance by continuing the choreography from Level I.

Level III will expand upon the basic moves and concepts taught in the previous classes, and help you discover how to put them together into your own dances. The class will include new moves and drills, and also exercises designed to help you express your dance as opposed to simply executing choreography.

Level I or previous basic belly dance experience is required for the Level II course. It is still a beginner level course, but you should already be familiar with basic moves such as hip lifts, various forms of hip figure eights, shimmies, snake arms, etc. You do not need to already know the choreography from Level I; we will review it.

Level II or additional previous experience required for the Level III course. It is an advanced beginner course; you should be comfortable with the moves listed above, and also be able to execute undulations, down-hips, turns, chest circles, various flowing arm movements, etc.

Neisa's Level III courses are different each session. Students who have taken Neisa's previous Level III courses (veil, drum solo) and wish to continue should reenroll in the current Level III.

If you previously took Neisa's Level II veil class (late summer 2007), you can take either the current Level II or Level III. The Level II will introduce some moves that were not in the previous class, plus complete the choreography from Level I. The Level III class will be more advanced and be taught at a slightly faster pace.

Preregistration

Preregistration is not required for Neisa's classes, but is highly recommended. There are three ways to preregister for Neisa's July classes:

Tuition

Tuition for Neisa's March 2008 classes is as follows:

• $90 if paid in entirety at the first class.
• $50 in two monthly installments ($100 total).
• $15 per class if paid for at each class.

Cash and checks (made out to Neisa Salima) will be accepted at class, and credit cards are accepted online through PayPal below for prepayment of tuition. A PayPal account is required; you can sign up at checkout. Sorry, payment of drop-in tuition is not available online.

Neisa's Level II or Level III students who enroll in one full price class may take a second, lower level class at half price ($45 for the course). Payment for this is available online, but please make sure that you meet the requirements for this to avoid your payment being returned. To qualify, a single student must

• Enroll in Level II or Level III for full price, then
• Enroll in one or more lower courses at half price.

Neisa's classes are held at the Cedars Jazz Club in Colorado Springs.

The Cedars is located at 3125 Sinton Road, on the northeast corner of Fillmore and I-25, in Fillmore Crossing. It is in the same building as the Paragon Culinary School.
